Weez is a Hip-Hop artist currently living in Pretoria. He is an original artist who creates his own lyrics and is constantly working and learning with an ear to the streets.

His music is exciting new and fresh in his specific genre and his mission is to create a product that every culture can relate to, both locally and in the international market.

Its about time that somebody step up and do Hip-Hop the way its suppose to be! South Africa needs a power injection for the Hip-Hop section..

Besides producing his own music, Weez also broadened his vision and cohered with other producers from California and New York.

Weez made his first professional recording in August 2006 with a producer from Nigeria named Maye and his song called Verbal Massacre was play listed on a local radio station 5 FM.

This song sneaked onto the hi5@5 chart as a new entry at number 20. Thereafter it hit the number 1 spot on this chart for 2 weeks in a row and remained for a total of 11 weeks on the charts. The song was the 11th most requested song of 2007 on 5FM.

This hit song Verbal Massacre was also recorded on a compilation album in the United States by DJ Khaled from the Terror Squad with other artist that included   T.I. and Lil Wayne.

 

A well known local South African DJ: Lady Lea, remixed Permanent Damage for her album Catch me if you can - 3rd time lucky. Weez and Gazelle also recorded a song Feel good for the J & B : Get the party started album.They also did a remix for Number One on Lady Lea Pioneer DJ usb album.

A music video for Permanent Damage and Number One is currently on rotation at MTV Base, Channel O and MK.

The Beeld news paper did a formal interview with Weez and in the publication the reporter announced Weez as  South Africas own EMINEM

Weez  also worked with electro artist Gazelle  on his album Chiq Arique they did a track called Just Now. Weez believes that collaborating with other artists brings out different sounds, and that your music can be exposed to a bigger audience.

Weez and the Afrikaans rock band Dertig Nul Ses recorded a theme song for the music channel MK 89 Matrix show in 2008.

Weez has been on various TV shows including MK Live, TRL Radio on MTV Base, Gons, Studio 1, Channel O, O-Boma and MK Matrix,

B-Real from the group Cypress Hill invited Weez to record a collaboration track with them in L.A. in 2009 the track is called Step back and is featured on The Harvest Volume 1. Weez made history in the South-African music industry, by being the first Hip-Hop artist to work with such a well known international group.

Supersport used Weez in a campaign for the Super 14 in 2010, the advert is currently on air. 

Besides writing his own music, Weez likes collaborating with other artists and producers globally. On his quest for perfection for his debut album Permanent Damage. Weez collaborated with 12 different artists, used 17 different producers, recorded at 14 studios and produced 48 tracks. Out of this he selected the 13 tracks for Permanent Damage. 

Weez is a definite icon that will soon place the South-African Music market in a different perspective. Its time to move the masses!!
